Opportunity follows struggle. It follows effort. It follows hard work. It doesn’t come before.
Welcome to the 35th episode of Giving Back Insights, my Thursday solo show where I talk about how our guests and their charities serve others, to explore actions each of can take to make a difference in people’s lives and to share. Today I’m discussing my Milestones. Listen to today’s episode and don’t forget to give your feedback and valuable comment. Enjoy!
Key Takeaways:
That handsome young man is my oldest son Carson. I just sent him off to school in Santa Barbara.
Mixed emotions: excited & happy for him, proud of him, a little sad that he’s leaving.
A big step for building the life of his dreams.
Jim Palmer: “Everyone deserves to live their dreams, but nobody is entitled to it”
Each of has the opportunity, every day, to make progress towards the life of our dreams.
I told my assistant Nicola a couple of days ago that I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Her response took me by surprise. Instead of telling me everything is going to be fine, or to cut back on some things, this is what she said to me:
“I like your sports car sir. your age drops to 30. you know what I mean? You are getting younger and that mean you can take lot of work.
Just take a deep breath and let me know how I can assist you in anything 🙂
I want to see you become a top leader”
It was just the right kind of kick in the pants reminder that I needed, some of the most encouraging words anyone’s ever told me.
I hope each of you has people who support and encourage you in the right way to keep you going strong. And I hope I will do the same for Carson.
Always err on the side of love and kindness.
Love & Gratitude,
Rob
